This queen size quilt (85″ x 85″) was a challenge for me. I had never made a feathered star before. There are over 1200 1″ half square triangles. When I started I didn’t know if I could do a good job piecing this. But I finished it (sometimes an accomplishment in itself) and won Best Piecing at the Sandhills Quilters Guild Quilt Show. Pattern is Sue Garmen’s Stars For A New Day.
I love the fabrics, most of which are from the Moda Etchings line. This was not a kit. I agonized over what fabrics to use in the various elements. Batting is Quilers Dream wool. Quilting includes McTavishing, curved cross hatching, leaf feathers, and line dancing.
Be sure to visit the Blogger’s Quilt Festival- Bed Quilts at Amy’s Creative Side to see all the wonderful quilts. There are many different categories, each with separate posts, so be sure to scroll through all the pages. You don’t want to miss a single quilt!!!
